Testimonials

  • Our therapist was an extremely good listener and was very attentive to the needs of our family as a whole, as well as us as individuals. She gave us the tools we needed to walk through a very hard time. She knew intuitively how to help our children and also gave us things to talk about at home to process through what we discussed in counseling

  • Kirsten met me in my grief through the dying process with my father. She skillfully used EMDR to help me heal childhood wounds. God has given her incredible gifts and a healing presence. I cannot recommend her enough.

    -SA

  • It’s hard to sum up my experience of therapy. In short, my life is better because of it. Thank you for all you do!

    -Amelie

  • Kirsten has been an incredible help to me over the past years; she is gentle, kind, wise, and humble. Her knowledge of how the body experiences trauma and EMDR have helped bring deep healing and restoration to me. I always look forward to our sessions and leave encouraged, refreshed, challenged, and inspired. I have recommended Kirsten to many of my friends!

Our Team

  • I love my job! I consider it a privilege to be invited into people’s lives at some of their most vulnerable moments, and I think I am a better person because of the beautiful and courageous people I get to work with.

I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota and Certified Complex Trauma Professional with over 25 years of experience sifting through the hard things in people’s lives and finding the beauty hidden beneath the pain.

I’m a Certified Enneagram Coach and a 3w2. The Enneagram has been a powerful tool for discovery and connection in my own life and family. I love helping others experience the clarity that comes with a deeper understanding of themselves through the lens of the Enneagram.

  • With sensitivity and compassion, I provide holistic counseling that draws from evidence-based research and Christian faith. My integrative approach utilizes EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and somatic interventions to help regulate your nervous system and restore the emotional connection to yourself and others.

Establishing a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship with my clients is foundational to my work. There is healing to be found in having the security of a relationship where you’re seen, known, and accepted. I bring a warmth and playfulness to counseling even as we attend to the more tender parts of your story.

I’m a Christian. My faith shapes the way that I work. I seek to treat every person as worthy of their God-given value and dignity. Most of my clients share that faith; some don’t, and that’s ok.

  • I’m married with four girls, two dogs, and an embarrassing number of houseplants. I’m a knitter, a hiker, an audiobook listener, and a sun-seeker. I love a to-do list, but more than that, I love being with my people. I think I’m pretty funny, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Accepting new clients now!

  • Hello my name is Alisha! My philosophy of the counseling and client relationship involves approaching each session with humility, curiosity and warmth. It is a brave step to meet with someone and share with them deeply personal struggles. I take very seriously the trust that involves this type of vulnerability in the counseling relationship. I strive to be present and genuine in each interaction I have with clients. I make it a priority to hear what client’s hopes are for counseling and together work toward accomplishing those goals. I count it a privilege to be a part of a client’s journey toward health as they work hard on continuing to write their beautiful story.

My hope is that as you contemplate counseling whether now or in the future that you know how deep God’s love is for you.  You do not have to be alone in your journey. I would love to meet with you!

  • As a Christian counselor I believe that no matter what we have gone through or are currently going through there is always hope and peace to be found. I enjoy integrating faith with counseling using skills from evidence-based theories that align with Christian values such as ACT, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction/Somatic Therapy, Solutions Focused and Family Systems interventions. I am aware that not all who seek counseling are interested in integrating faith with counseling and so aspire to come alongside each client in the direction they hope to take.

I work with children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families helping them work through issues such as anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, self-esteem, emotion regulation, parenting, behavior disorders, depression, adhd, ocd, stress management and faith concerns. I have had experience working from a trauma informed lens and consider all aspects of a client’s background including their family of origin when working toward counseling goals. I tend to approach therapy from a strengths based coaching/teaching lens. I believe when we develop useful coping skills, we feel more empowered and confident to tackle life’s difficulties.

  • In my spare time I love to be with my family just hanging out, cooking and sharing a meal, and spending time outdoors.

    Favorite Quote:

“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” J.R.R. Tolkien

Favorite Verse: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

  • I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Minnesota and Hawaii. I love working with all ages from very young children (and their parents together), children, teens, young adults, mature adults and elders.

  • I enjoy working with clients to help manage their symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I work with individuals diagnosed with long-term illness, their caregivers, as well as widows and widowers who are in need of support.

With extensive training in TF-CBT, DBT and Child/Parent Psychology I utilize a positive, nonjudgmental, strength-based approach to working with clients. I come alongside them to provide new information and challenge behaviors, thoughts, feelings and experiences that may interfere with their living a healthy, balanced lifestyle that they often seek in their lives.

I encourage clients to utilize their spiritual beliefs and practices as powerful resources in their healing. A positive outlook and approach in our own daily lives, no matter the challenge, can positively affect our mental and physical well-being.

  • Personally, my faith has been very important to me throughout my life. My husband and best friend of 50 years passed away in 2024. I have many fond memories of our life together and look forward to our meeting again in Heaven.

I have two grown sons who both will be marrying their fiancées in the near future. I enjoy gardening, going to movies, concerts, love dancing, eating out at restaurants, time with my family and friends. I inherited a Calico kitty from my brother in law and named her Cali.

Favorite Verse: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Our Services

Individual Therapy

  • Our therapists have specialized training in working with clients who have experienced life-altering pain. Trauma may occur in an isolated incident or through chronic neglect or suffering. Symptoms may include hypervigilance; difficulty trusting people; difficulty concentrating or completing important tasks; feeling stuck in the past; intrusive and upsetting memories; feelings of shame, guilt or worthlessness.

  • EMDR is a well researched psychotherapy used to treat trauma and other emotionally overwhelming experiences

  • Our therapists are Christians who understand how beautiful and complicated faith can be. If you’ve been hurt by organized religion or spiritual leaders; are wondering where God was when something terrible happened; or are struggling with doubt or shame, we’re here to provide a gentle and nonjudgmental space for you to work through your experience.

  • Occasional worry about life’s stressors is common. Frequent worrying, difficulty concentrating, feeling nervous or on edge, or having a sense of impending doom are signs that something needs to change. Felicity Counseling can help you get relief from overwhelming anxiety.

  • If you have difficulty completing tasks; are easily distractible; overly focused and unable to shift attention; often make unnecessary mistakes; are regularly late or forgetful; and are irritable, anxious or depressed as a result, counseling can help. We will help you develop strategies to manage executive functioning challenges and move from floundering in life to flourishing.

  • While we all experience periods of sadness–weeks or months of feeling down, hopeless or empty; irritability; loss of interest in pleasurable activities like time with friends, hobbies, sex; too much or too little sleep; or a negative outlook can indicate the need for extra support.

  • Grief can result from the death of a loved one or the loss of relationships, opportunities or future plans. If you’re experiencing chronic depression and numbness; sleep disturbances; difficulty feeling hopeful about the future; or obsessive thoughts about your loss, grief counseling can help.

  • We need relationships that are safe and supportive, where we feel known and loved. Unresolved conflicts; difficulty with communication; and emotional disconnection are barriers to safe, supportive and intimate relationships. Relationship concerns can be addressed in individual or family therapy.

  • Abuse is more than physical injury or threats–frequent criticism, contempt, manipulation, control, rage, treating someone as less than or denying the impact of harm are also indicators of abuse in a relationship. Marriage counseling is not recommended for abusive relationships. Your counselor will work with you to create a safety plan, access appropriate resources and will support you in individual therapy.

Relationship Therapy

  • The demands of work and family can get in the way of closeness in your most important relationship. Many couples find they’re able to get the daily things done but feel like they don’t really know each other anymore. Counseling to restore emotional connection can bring you both more security and satisfaction in your relationship.

  • It’s like deja vu all over again – you want to get out of the cycle of repeated conflicts but you need help finding your way out. Working with a therapist to identify your underlying beliefs and needs will develop clarity and compassion for each other and will make room for new communication strategies to take hold.

  • Our therapists get it, parenting is tough! It’s tougher when you aren’t on the same page with your spouse. Counseling can help you focus on what you both want—the best for your kids—and develop strategies for flourishing in your home.
